The forth annual culinary contest
The 4th Annual culinary contest, a fund raising event to support the Sino-USA Next Generation Education Foundation, will be held on May 4, 2013
  
The Sino-USA Next Generation Foundation was established in 2009. Since its inception, it has been growing steadily due to generous support from many groups in the Chinese community. The foundation has financially assisted total of 79 poor children with high academic achievement from seven regions including Qingchuan in Sichuan, Nankaiin Tianjin, Yushu in Qinghai, Dehong in Yunnan, Bazhong in Sichuan, Longlingin Yunnan, Zhumadian and Xinxiang in Henan Province. The Annual Culinary Contest is a major event to raise funds for the charity and this event has been held 3 times before. The 4th Culinary Contest will be held on May 4th this year. As in previous years, this will be a big party with dozens of organizations and charities involved in organizing this event.
  
In the past three years, culinary contest as been a major charity event organized jointly by dozens of groups in Atlanta. The size of the event and the number of participants has been increasing every year, harness in genergy and compassion from more and more people across the greater Atlanta area. Contestants consisted of amateur culinary talents representing diverse authentic cuisines and the gourmet food has been the highlights of the event, which has attracted an increasing number of participants; many local Chinese restaurants donated their signature dishes and showcased their specialties, providing a grand feast for people of various backgrounds and all ages.
  
This culinary contest is a food-tasting party, but it is also a party full of entertainment. Talent shows by groups from all over the city, including dance schools, choirs, dance troupes, and singers how cased brilliant performances for everyone to enjoy. The performance MCs were all experienced on the stage and many of them were even well-trained professionals. The culinary content poses to be even better this year with a more enjoyable venue and first-class acoustic equipment in addition to beautiful exhibitions and decorations.
  
This culinary contest will be a gathering of groups and individuals who are kind and caring, whose hearts are filled with warmth and love toward their fellow Chinese back in China. At this party, we will collect donated money and goods. Donated money and funds raised through the auction of donated goods from this charity event will be used for scholarships to support education of poor children in China who have demonstrated great potential through their stellar academic achievement. Some donated items will also be used as a raffle gifts at the party. Non-monetary items that we received at last year's party include free summer camps, gift cards for dining at restaurants, admission tickets to classes or parks, as well as paintings, photographs, crafts and jewelries etc. These items are not things that money can buy but instead are vehicles of various shapes and sizes that are loaded with love and compassion. The Foundation sincerely thanks all of you for your love and dedication. The Sino-USA Next Generation Foundation is a registered, non-profit organization in the United States and is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization with IRS registration and certification. Since the first day it was established, the Foundation has been operated under the four cardinal principles. Those are : (1 ) all the staff of the Foundation are volunteers, without any forms of remuneration or allowances, (2) the volunteers who execute and implement the assistance program have to bear the travel and lodging costs by themselves, plus the Foundation funds shall not be used for personal purposes; (3) All aids should be directly handed over to those who are assisted by the funds, without any middle men; (4) Foundation funds can only be used for direct assistance, routine operation and maintenance of the foundations such as website maintenance.
  
In order to be able to raise more funds to help more children, we hope more friends will participate in this year's culinary contest. Greater support from you means more help to the deprived children. For your convenience, , the Foundation has set up online registration as we did last year. Please register using the link below. The entry fee for the event is $ 20 per adult and children above the age of 12, $15 for children aged 6- 12 years. It will be free for children under 5 years of age.

This board of this Foundation is a group of volunteers from different business and professional areas. The principles of the Foundation are:
  • All volunteers, no pay or compensation in any form.
  • No travel expenses will be paid from the Foundation to any volunteers.
  • All aids will be handed to the students or their families directly by volunteers working for this organization without any middle-agents.
  • All funds donated to the Foundation can only be used for students aid and Foundation operations (for example, website maintenance and company registration fee)
